Nakkertok Ski and Social
Today’s adventure took me to Nakkertok Val-des-Monts to experience some of the beautiful trail network with my friend Annie. There is so much beauty in this area and the folks that manage this network of trails have invested a lot of time and effort into providing a great experience when you arrive.
Some trails are not groomed often and they highlight this on the map. What I love about this is that it provides a bit of a backcountry experience while you are on classic skis. The trail comprises of classic skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking\running trails in the summer. There is plenty of signage to help you identify which trail is for what activity. One of the easiest markers is that snowshoeing trails are narrow (two feet wide) anything else is for skiing.
We ventured on some freshly groomed trails and mixed it up with some less groomed to explore and the new 2km track built for beginners. There is something for everyone!
The network has a lot of nice up and down curvy trails and it makes for some really fun and exciting decents :)
If you are looking for a different ski experience, I would highly recommend this network. When health and safety regulations allow, you will be able to warm up in the cabin for an apres hot chocolate and snack after your outing.

Experience Required: The whole trail network has something for everyone. There are more challenging trails that require a bit more experience for the narrow and pitchier downhills, but it’s all very manageble. They have a new beginner track that is 2km for those to practise their skills. The snowshoe trails are all accessible easily from the parking lot and just require a bit of up and down climbing.
Trail Information: For Nakkertok Val-des-Monts, it is $10 for ski or $5 for snowshoe. People can put the cash in the box and sign the register at the entrance. The online passes are for the full network (North and South and the Weber loppet connector trail). Those are $15.
