Ski Week at Nipika MTN Resort

When I first visited Nipika in 2021 for the TransRockies Gravel Royale, I was immediately in awe of the landscape, the people and the terrain that this area has to offer.

Since then, I have participated in their mountain bike camps and was eager to join Ski Week and spend 5 days with other ski enthusiasts. I’m so grateful to say that I had the most amazing ski week to kick off 2025 and would highly recommend others to join in the future!

Their website has a lot of details for you to review, but I thought I would share along my impressions over the week and share some photos and video footage.

Trails

You will have your choice of skate or classic for the week. It’s okay if you lean into one direction or another, as the coaches can modify the sessions for both ski styles. The trail system is super fun and well designed. The south side is quite flat with beautiful views of the river, and the north side has more climbing but takes you to the natural bridge. The Daisy Meadow Hut on the way to the bridge is a fantastic stopping point for a snack and to warm up.

Coaching Staff

You will be greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello when you arrive! The coaches are eager to join in the fun and they will make sure that if you need gear or tips for the week, they will be there to make you comfortable. Be aware, if you’re looking for a challenge, they will certainly get you out of your comfort zone! (Double polling anyone!?)

Coaching!

The coaching staff will ensure that you have the opportunity to learn as much as possible during your time on the trails.

Schedule

There’s lots to do within the day and there’s also opportunities for you to take your time to relax and enjoy the cabins or the sauna. We took a day off skiing, and some went snowshoeing and others went fat biking. All activities start at the day lodge or your cabin, so your car doesn’t need to move for the week!

South Side!

The fat bike trails are perfection on the south side. I mean, who can resist this view?!

Atmosphere

I find that these types of camps often attract like minded people. You will be encouraged to meet new people, dine with others outside your cabin and participate and some fun games here and there. I really enjoyed my morning coffee in the barn before breakfast and enjoyed some quiet time for the day.

Meet new people!

A great way to meet new people is with a few games to kick off the week!

I had a really great time at the camp and if you are looking to improve your skills, get away from the daily grind and meet new people, this camp is for you! Be curious, explore new places and people and enjoy the ride.
